I have had the opportunity to work with Kara from Kara Reese Photography on a few different occasions, from taking a one on one mentorship with her, being a client of hers, and helping assist her with a newborn triplet session. I watched her business grow for a few years before I decided I wanted to become a photographer. The first investment into my business besides the basics for props/equipment was a one on one workshop by Kara. At the one on one I learned exponentially on studio lighting and newborn posing, as well as business etiquette and editing. Even after the day of mentoring she was always quick to answering my questions and encouraging me as my business grew. Kara’s mentoring was the best investment in my first year of business and I would recommend her mentoring over and over again! – Kendall, Birth & Beyond by Kendall
I have been a photographer almost all my life, but decided to take the plunge into the world of self employment almost two years ago. Mentoring with Kara opened my eyes to resources I didn’t even know existed to professional photographers. She was totally open book and I was able to get all my questions answered — not just photography questions, but anything related to business, pricing, sales, samples, marketing, etc. I have a long way to go, and I’m learning new skills and lessons every day, but without that first mentorship with Kara, I don’t think I would have been able to get off the ground. -Leon, Dynamic Light Photography
I cannot say enough great things about Kara. She is beyond skilled in her craft and creates such beautiful art. When I reached out to her to mentor me she was efficient and patient. I am a wedding photographer by trade, and working with teeny babies was far beyond my comfort zone. She has a way of focusing all her attention on the clients, their parents and still was able to teach and guide me. All of my questions were answered in great detail, she made me feel confident and comfortable. While she has extreme authority and knowledge she is also super relatable and makes it easy to learn when you work with her. I would work with her again in a heart beat and will refer her to anyone I know looking to learn the art of newborn photography. – Nikki, Nikki Winter Photography
