Ann and Denny’s 50-Year Love Story — and the Portrait Session That Became a Legacy
Kara Reese Photography | Waukesha, Wisconsin | Enduring Love Portrait Experience

They first crossed paths in 1972 on their college campus.
They were both in the outing club, ski club, and guitar and folk choir at church. It was the kind of beginning built on a genuine shared life — adventure and faith — and the delightful discovery of two who fit seamlessly.
Ann wanted to marry Denny so much that she added summer credits to graduate a semester early. Being a year older, Denny was ahead of her, and she couldn’t handle the thought of being apart for a full year.
So she bridged the gap.
They married in October of 1974.

Due to their budget, the wedding was simple. Ann’s older brother took their photos with an instant camera. The photos were fine, but Ann always wished they had better.
Ann and Denny have remained in love for 50 more years. Like many couples, they faced challenges. The reasons they’ve remained a couple have been respectful communication, support, and flexibility, shared interests, and faith.

At 73, Ann and Denny understand things about love that only time can teach, and it’s a lot.
Naturally, aging and all of the accompanying health issues put a special spin on the importance of making every day count. Days that may have once seemed regular and mundane, now are anything but. You learn to appreciate the companionship that you may have once taken for granted.
It was during this time of life when Ann told us something that made us pause:
“Having beautiful photos that capture our love story are more important than nice wedding photos ever were. They are a legacy to leave our children and grandchildren.”
Not a keepsake — a legacy. The photos will tell their children and grandchildren what love looks like when it is real, when it is enduring, and when it is chosen again and again.
For this reason, we have Enduring Love at Kara Reese Photography. We are honored to have the opportunity to create portraits of Southeastern Wisconsin couples who, for our community, represent the rare and the beautiful.
Are you a couple that would love to do a guided photo shoot and has been married for 10, 20, 30 or more years? Ann and Denny have been married for more than 73 years and are fully in love. This photo shoot can show the world that love is still there after all those years. This photo shoot is for the couples that have been there for each other through it all.
Some of the things that are included in the shoot are: a hair and makeup appointment, a guided photo shoot, a consultation appointment to style and decide what you want for your portrait, and a custom portrait that will be an art piece and framed for your wall.

This experience is for couples in Waukesha and all of Southeast Wisconsin who have dedicated years of their lives to building a life together.
This is for you if you have ever seen an old picture and wished it could have captured that moment in a more intentional way, a more beautiful way, and a way that would hold the same reverence for that moment in love.
This is what you need if you want to give your children and future generations proof of your legacy that shows them how to be committed to something and how to stick to something.
You do not need to be celebrating a milestone anniversary. You just need to realize that what you have built in your relationship and the life you have created together deserves to be seen and appreciated.
Kara Reese Photography is located at 213 South Street in downtown Waukesha, WI. The Enduring Love portrait experience will be available to couples until we run out of space in the exhibition.
You have a story that is ready to be told. Let it be told beautifully.
